About the Hub

A mission station for Christ's church.

We're not a church. We host many microcommunities of Christ's church: spiritual families who gather here, are encouraged and trained up, and go out to make Jesus known.

What it's all about

Know Jesus. Make Him known.

Every community that gathers here and every ministry on campus exists for those two things: getting to know Jesus more, and making Him known where we live, learn, work, and play.

The rhythm

Gather. Be encouraged. Be trained up. Go out.

01

Gather

Around tables, over meals, in homes. Anyone can pull up a chair.

02

Be encouraged

In a spiritual family that knows your name and loves you as you are.

03

Be trained up

To know Jesus more, find who He made you to be, and practice what He said.

04

Go out

To make Jesus known where you live, learn, work, and play.

Our working definition

What is a disciple?

A disciple is someone who…

  1. follows Jesus,

Knows and trusts the Jesus of the Bible, and learns from Him in every part of life.

  2. is being changed by Jesus,

Becoming like Him in thought, character, and action, through surrender, abiding, and obedience.

  3. and is on mission with Jesus.

Doing what He did: loving others and teaching them to follow Him, together with the family of God.

Words we're working on

A few more definitions.

Church

A people, not a place.

There's one church, and it belongs to Jesus. Wherever worship, community, and mission overlap, that's an expression of Christ's church emerging. We don't go to church; we are the church.

Microcommunity

Christ's church, close to home.

A small spiritual family of believers who share life, worship, and mission together in a neighborhood, a home, a workplace, a culture, or a language.

Leader

Someone who goes first and serves.

We're all called to be leaders: every disciple takes relational responsibility for a few. Elders are everyday disciples who take it for many.

We're still learning how to say it well.

We're in the process of clarifying the language we use so we can communicate more intentionally. We'd love for you to be part of that. Ask us questions, push back, or sit down with us over coffee.

Our core conviction

You're already on your mission field.

You don't need a plane ticket to be on mission. Your street, your workplace, your kids' school, the table at lunch: that's where Jesus is sending you this week. And when He calls you to another people or another place, following Him means going there. Every disciple is a missionary, wherever they live, learn, work, and play.

"You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."Acts 1:8

Our story

From a church campus to a mission station.

In 2022 a replanted church campus at the crossroads of I-26 and I-526 became something new: a shared home for many expressions of Christ's church, nonprofits, and mission-minded people who wanted to actually work together. Today, communities gather here in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, French, Swahili, and more, alongside a refugee-resettlement agency, a bilingual school, a clinic in the making, and many other ministries.

We take our cue from the church at Antioch, a gateway city where the gospel first crossed cultures and "the disciples were first called Christians." It was a diverse family that sent and received missionaries.

The Hub exists to be a place where microcommunities of Christ's church gather, are encouraged, are trained up, and go out. The Hub at Remount is the first. The next will be "The Hub at" wherever God opens the door.

Our values

The family resemblance.

We know God personally and make Him known through relationship. We hear His voice and depend on Him. We practice worship, prayer, and telling each other what God is doing. We go first and serve. We do before we teach. We're international, interdenominational, and multicultural, because each tradition carries a different emphasis of Jesus, and together they show more of Him. We practice hospitality. We multiply.
